During the weekend Helldivers demolished all the bots. Helldivers account on X celebrated it with a tweet saying 'With the bots eradicated and bugs contained, the galaxy is free once more. Surely, nothing bad will happen now... will it?
Well, let's see. The bugs still present a huge problem, and the new content might revolve around that. A couple days prior the developers showed us a trailer for a new Warbond Battle Pass called Democratic Detonation. In the trailer, they showed us Helldivers eradicating bugs with style with the new weapons. The new Warbond will get you:
- 3 New Armor Sets
- 3 New Capes
- 6P-31 Grenade Pistol
- Marsman Rifle BR-14 Adjudicator
- Explosive R-36 Eruptor
- Explosive CB-9 Crossbow
- Special Grenade G-123 Thermite
Another possibility is the return of the Illuminite. It's an enemy faction from Helldivers 1, you can read more about them on the fandom page. In Helldivers 2, this faction is not present, however, quoting the fandom page: in-game files suggest they may potentially return at a later date.
Considering that Helldivers 2 is a very recent game and it's far from its end-game, we might not see Illuminate just yet. But every new content release increases that probability bit by bit.
So yep, most likely, we'll end up fighting bugs for now.
